I would like to hear your thoughts about the Army SSgt who went on a rampage in Afgahanistan.

I think most Americans are forgetting that this guy has done multiple tours. I in no way condone what he did and my heart goes out to the victims families as well as his family. However, I do understand that this guy was stressed out beyond what the civilian population can imagine. I know what he did is considered a war crime. I think before we go through a military trial we need to get this guy some much needed help. Do I think he should pull some time? Yes. But, I think he should pull some mental help along with that time. Adding a jail sentence will not help him one bit when he gets out if we do not help him. I think his family should go to counseling as well if not for themselves but to know how to help him as a family.
Now it is your turn. What are your opinions?
Have to agree with you Pappy. The facts are need before anything.
Its a shame we drive these young men and women to this type of thing by sending them over there so many times.
It can get to ya. I don't have much to say about this, his behavior and actions was incredibly wrong, but I don't put all the blame on him. In the military, everyone reports to someone of higher authority. In this case, someone should have seen this coming.
