New Tires and Wheels

Posted on July 3, 2009 at 11:13am 6 Comments

Happened to find a great deal online for tires and wheels, went over to the local Discount Tire shop and they beat the price! Man they look great on this PT!!! Pictures posted in the above photo album. In 2 weeks I'll be installing the Tokico shocks and struts and the H&R lowering springs...

Boy did it snow here!!!

Well out here on Lake Norman, NC, we get a small amount of snow, usually more than Charlotte (25 mi south), but this was crazy. 6" of snow in one night! Was a devastatingly beautiful day after it, so I wandered around taking photos and watching the crazies get out and drive on it. Snow on top of ice = bad day of driving, so I stayed in. Out the front door:

Some of my trees took a real beating:

PT Racing and Tuning

Posted on February 9, 2009 at 11:50pm 1 Comment

Well, spent last week in Florida, took the PT and my Predator and visited with the guys at DiabloSport where I got a custom tune on Friday. Then took the car out and ran it at Palm Beach International Raceway. Had a blast, but still didn't feel right, so took the PT down to Rage-Tek in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday...oh boy, what a difference a day makes! Spent the evening on their dyno while Nemo custom tuned my PT. First run, with the stock/factory tune, the PT registered in at 202 whp, 242 wtq.… Continue

thanks for the info. my pt is n/a, came with 16x6 alloy wheels. i have added the strut bar for some added stability. seems to have helped in turns and on /off ramps. kinda wanted to get a little beefier look without ride quality suffering too much.
i have been talking to our local discount tire also. they do seem to have the best prices.
do your wheels have the extra lug holes? i know it won't matter as much with the black centers, but was somewhat concerned that it would be hard to clean the brake dust and dirt out of those.
any information that you have would be appriciated. my email address is:

just wanted to check with you on your wheels. was on the phone with david rivard, and he mentioned you had done some changes on your car.
we have an 08 convert. white/black top and were interested in a wheel change.
trying to decide on staying with 16's or going to 17's.
don;t want to get too low profile because of ride. were thinking of going a little wider whichever wheel diameter we choose.
any suggestions?
thanks alot,
wayne

Hello Robin, It has been a while and work has been keeping me busy also. Went to the show in Myrtle Beach and had a blast. The car too top five in her class which was exciting. I have the new flame rims on the car and posted pictures on my page. My brother says that I need to lower it now. How did that go for you or did you not do it? If you did how much of a pain was it and have you had any problems or regrets.

Did you ever drive the Dragan's Tail?

Looks good on the car. I looked at a set of Asanti 19-7's which are chrome and red to match the car. My only concern is that I do not have a performance braking system just the original. Do not know if I am ready to also spend that kind of money and not sure how it will look with the system that I have.

What a pain in the royal arse trying to make a decision. Have also thought about baby moons, chrome ring and the center painted red and possibly with flames. It is an option.

Let me know how the lowering goes. My brother and I were just talking about that.

It is me again. I have been looking at new rims and found what I want. They are chrome flames from Boyd Coddington. My concern is that I have 16-6 on the car now and the smallest they come ar 17 -7. I would probbaly do 18 but am concerned about the width. What do you have o your 06 turbo? Have you had any problems? These will be a chunk of change and I want to make the right decision; otherwise I wil have a lot invested in rims that I cannot use.

Hello Robin, glad to hear all is going well. Do send me the information as I did a google search. Sounds like fun. How fast do think you will be going? Received some of the new bling and have been adding. As always there is modifications to do which take time. I hope to have everything completed over the weekend.

Hello Robin, see that you found another position. Hope that it is still going well for you. I also found a new position and am just passing my 90 days. Nice thing is that it is much better than the last one. Just ordered more bling for the car. Will post pictures when I get it all installed. Found rims that I want but just not quit ready for that major expense. What has been going on? Anything fun? Had the car on the race track here. It was rush and I will do it again. Have a good one, David
