Thanks for the quick comment back to me. I'll enjoy looking at your club's site sometimes and hope to hear from you again in the future. I notice your first car was a VW, as was mine (and also 2nd, 3rd, etc--see my entry in What did you drive . . .
I heard some of the arsonists have been charged; sure hope they catch all of them. And remember there are lots of really nice folks who help make up for the bad ones!
When I saw you are in Australia, I couldn't resist contacting you. My husband and I had a wonderful 3-week trip in Australia in 1998, when we drove from Melbourne through Flinders Ranges, west and north to the Oodnadata Track to the Stuart Highway, Kings Creek Station, Uluru and Alice Springs, Kakadu, and ended at Darwin. We then flew to Cairns and visited the Kuranda Rainforest. Our first night was at a home in the bush near Bendigo, and I'm guessing the fires may have gone through there. I was glad to read in your comments that you were not affected by those terrible fires.
G'day, Carol Gannon
Hello Graham, Hope that all is well with you, relatives , and friends. Have been reading about the fires. Sounds bad. Is there any end in sight? Heard that it cooled down some but the winds were changing. Be safe,
You could have sent some of that heat here earlier this week. It iwas into the 20's F (below 0 c) for about a week. There was a layer of ice on the fish pond. The good thing about Georgia is that if you do not like the weather just wait and it will change. Here we were freezing a few days ago and this weekend it wil be in the 70's (not sure what that is c). What is the time and day there? It is friday 9:30 at night.
Hello Graham, Yes a/c is great. I grew up in Florida and we never had it. I wonder how I survived but as a kid I believe as a kid that you never think about it. The weather does sound hot. Is this the dry season or do you at least get some rain and a breeze?
